Submission Guidelines

The WAiF Project seeks submissions that are equal parts personal anthropology and creative narrative. We look for stories that are well-crafted and thought-provoking, and publish narratives that are honest, frank, and radically self-aware in their reflection on places, people, and situations. This publication envisions itself a forum where the content addressed in the stories themselves is as important as the way in which they're communicated. We are interested in universal themes found in individual experience, and want to hear about the lessons that are hardest fought. We are not interested in bias, political manifestos, or opinion. But if you have an insight learned through experience, we want to hear about that experience.

Professional writers, life-long journalers, emerging writers, and “I don’t” writers are all encouraged to submit and participate.

THE DOWN AND DIRTY

  • Publication is online in thematic, bi-annual issues, released in Spring and Fall.

  • All forms of creative narrative are accepted, as long as it is a true story --- long form, short form, personal essay, graphic narrative (i.e. illustration, comic art), poetic prose, et cetera. Show us your unique style.

  • All submissions must have a title to be published.

  • Images, artwork, or photography to accompany words are welcome and encouraged, but ultimately published at the discretion of WAiF. Please include appropriate credits with any images (JPG, no larger than 2MB).

  • Submission does not guarantee publication.
